By-Laws

SECTION 1: SECRETARY
It shall be the duty of the Secretary to retain current copies of the Constitution and By-laws of the MO-KAN COUNCIL OF AMATEUR RADIO CLUBS, INC., and have them present at each regular and special meeting. The Secretary shall cause all amendments to be noted immediately thereon, and shall permit them to be reviewed by any member or officer upon request. The Secretary shall furnish a copy of the Constitution and By-laws to each member organization's duly appointed representative, as well as any amendments as are made.

SECTION 2: MEMBERSHIP
Application for membership in the MO-KAN COUNCIL OF AMATEUR RADIO CLUBS, INC. shall be submitted in writing at a regular meeting. Each application must express a willingness to participate in the activities of this organization, and to further its goals as stated in the Preamble of its Constitution. A simple majority of member organization's duly appointed representatives shall be required for approval of membership in this organization. The Secretary shall maintain a supply of membership applications and furnish them upon request.

SECTION 3: MEETINGS
Regular meetings shall be held not more than every other month, beginning in January of each calendar year. Special meetings may be called by the President and/or upon written request of any five (5) member organization's representatives. Meetings shall be held at such place as the President shall order. The President shall advise the Secretary of the business to be transacted at any special meeting, and the Secretary shall in turn give written notice to each member organization's duly appointed representative of the location, date, and time of such special meeting and the business to be transacted at such a meeting. Special meetings will not be held on any member clubs' regularly scheduled meeting night.

SECTION 4: NOTICE OF MEETINGS
Notice of all regular and special meetings shall be given in writing, listing the location, date, time of such meetings, and the nature of the business to be transacted in the case of special meetings. Such notice shall be given not less than ten (10) days from the date of any meeting, and sent to the address of the current duly appointed representative of each member organization.

SECTION 5: DUES
An annual assessment of fifteen dollars ($15) per member organization meeting the standards of Article I Section 1, is hereby assessed in accordance with Article V of the Constitution for the purpose of providing funds for operating expenses incurred by this organization. Dues shall become due and payable on January 1st of each calendar year, and become delinquent on the last day of February of each calendar year. The dues have been suspended for 2007.

SECTION 6: WEEKLY RADIO NET
The President shall appoint one (1) representative of this organization and one or more alternates to call a local radio net each Monday evening at 2030 hours local time, except on designated national holidays and meeting nights for this organiation. This net shall be for the purpose of exchanging information of amateur radio clubs and their activities, as well as any general information of interest to the local amateur community. This net shall be conducted on a two meter amateur repeater which provides coverage to the greater Kansas City area.
